I don't understand why people are justifying this new governmental mandate and takeover as being equal to car insurance or wearing seat belts. This is a weak argument and liberals are trying to justify it by pointing out other instances of mandates and loss of freedom. Liberals, stop lying to yourselves, you know this is what is happening. This is a free country or at least it used to be. We should have the "choice" to decide if we want health insurance or not, aren't liberals big on CHOICE? I guess they are only for it when it comes to killing unborn children. We have given away our choice to the liberals and in doing so we have lost freedom, that's the only way to spin this. What will we give away next, our choice on food, cars, speech? It's coming if we don't act
Being mandated to get auto insurance is far different than being mandated to get health insurance and all common sense people know this; you can't equate the two unless you are a complete uneducated dunce, OR if you are one of those people who lie to themselves. Auto insurance is to protect other people, not you-the-driver, that's why it has been mandated. Think about it people.
Being mandated to wear a seatbelt is also far different than being mandated to get health insurance. Face the facts, the government doesn't care whether or not you wear a seatbelt, it is simply a way to generate revenue and harass law abiding citizens.
Being mandated to buy health insurance is unethical, un-American, and prohibitive of progress for America. Those that won't pay will be fined by the IRS. Those that are too poor to pay will be once again subsidized by mine and your tax dollars. Why should I continue to work if the government is going to just take it away and give it to someone who refuses to work? Maybe I should stop working and reap the benefits of others' hard work. If enough people feel like this we will implode because there won't be anyone to pay for the welfare. This would be a liberal mindset and I would rather die than live like this, that is why I am truly an American.
